Hello carebear and welcome to the alternative board,

I've had accupuncture a few times, and would recommend giving it a try. Its not a cure all, but it is helpful for many conditions. Like all medicines or therapies though, not all benefit everyone so its a case of trial and error really to find out what actually makes a difference to how YOU feel.

Its not painful, just a little pin prick thats all and the places the needles will be inserted varies a lot....i've had earlobes, forehead, mouth, hands, ankles etc done. The main thing is to relax, and you'll find more often that not that you almost fall asleep whilst under the needles.

As for finding someone who is good at their profession........well its like most things, word of mouth recommendation works well or try to do a bit of background digging first to find someone who you feel comfortable with and confident in using as this IMO is extremely important when it comes to healing.

What country are you in by the way? It might help someone reading this thread to recommend someone perhaps if they know someone relatively close to you.

Hope this helps

TJ
