I took my first 300 mg. pill of the Perika brand of St. John's Wort today. I have so little energy or motivation and I was hoping to get an immediate boost from Perika. I expected that the antidepressant effect would take a while but I also thought that it would be energizing within an hour of taking it. Instead, like so many other things, it put me to sleep and I wasted the whole afternoon. Is this something that will probably pass? Did any of you have this effect from Perika initially and then later get energy and motivation from it once your body adjusted to it? I'm so disappointed. I hope this will pass. (If not, it's probably back to the hard-core ADs for me - though none of them have worked all that well either so far.)
