Different forms of Magnesium for different effects

I've heard Magnesium Taurate is good to take before bed (for relaxation and insomnia) and Magnesium Glycinate is good to take during the day (for focus and concentration). Is there any truth to these distinctions?

Anyone had any experience with (any) forms of Magnesium, i.e., what does Magnesium (X) do for you?
