Barbara, that's good info on the SJW, but could you say more about the lithium? Are you BPI or BPII? Do you have to get regular blood checks? Are the side effects tolerable?
I've had so much stomach trouble and dizziness from the anti-convulsant meds, I've never been able to stay on one long-term. I'm wondering if lithium might actually suit me better. I'm struggling along on just an AD, because I've had such bad luck with mood stabilizers. But I have the same experience with ADs as you describe with the SJW-- a good initial response, but spotty or fading out from then on.
