There was a thread on ibogaine on the Substance Use board earlier this year. It's legal in Canada (or was, anyway), but from all I've read, this substance may well be useful for treating opiate addiction, but it must only be used under direct medical supervision.

Try doing a babble search on ibogaine. It should turn up that thread.
