Hi Folks,
I'm going to take a urine test (ordered by naturopath) from NeuroScience Labs to measure:
o Serotonin
o Dopamine
o Norepinephrine
o Epinephrine
o GABA
o Histamine
o Phenylethylamine (PEA)If anyone is interested in the results and ongoing treatment I'll be posting updates here.
The idea is to monitor and correct imbalances via precursors, mainly amino acids. Of course, the lab also sells their own products, but no one is obligated to buy their brand.
I was a little leery because my understanding is that brain chemistry testing has been less than accurate up to now. My naturopath said she thinks this particular testing technology has been refined but wasn't sure.
Anyone familiar with this test or have any thoughts about the accuracy of neurotransmitter urine testing, (probably metabolites)?
I'm going to call the company and will thoroughly grill them. Their website (www.neuroscienceinc.com) has some educational and research materials. - BarbaraCat
