I just learned that these two don't just work on serotonin, but dopamine as well. I rather be depressed than be such an angry crazy woman, and I was so excited to try this stuff. :( Does anyone know of anything herbal, or anything else natural that raises neuroepinephrine and serotonin, and not dopamine? I can't live with myself being like this to others for a second, but want to try something else to go with the 5-htp which alone isn't enough, and I feel it may be more than just serotonin. (Tried many other anti-depressants, but gained too much weight!) Thanks everyone, and anyone! Andie

Are you supplementing with magnesium? Before I did that, tyrosine made me feel that way...now it feels good. Wellbutrin also made me feel mean and savage (before magnesium).

TMG, which acts similarly to SAMe, also causes irritability in me now if I don't also take enough magnesium.

Magnesium malate and glycinate is what I've taken and prefer, though I've heard that mg taurate is good too.

TMG is something you might want to try, or L-phenylalanine or DLPA. Or St. John's Wort.

Lots of info on this Alternative board if you check some previous discussions or search the archives.
