Ron, you may want to poke around the forums using the search function or going back to earlier "snapshots" of the alternative forum (it's not been up for very long).
The supposed active compound of grape seed extract are the oligomeric proanthocyanidins (OPCs). They can also be obtained from pine bark and cranberries (IIRC) among others.
