No, you are absolutely correct. I am the mangled-misused metaphor minstrel.
I should stay away from them really (and alliteration) I forgot that a red-herrring (when not cooked or pickled) is an intentional manoever and I didn't mean to imply that. Sorry.
And thanks for the correction (no sarcasm there either)
