I assume you're referring to:

I think sometimes it might be best just to let me try to handle it, but sometimes it might be good for the poster to get feedback from peers as well as from authority figures -- as long as it's civil, of course.

What I was responding to was the idea that if newcomers were identified as such, they'd be more likely to be looked out for...
