Yeah, I often do the same to myself. Although, I blame SSRIs for sapping my desire for self improvement. I feel like there's no personal growth because I have no interests anymore. I basically wade through the day not really anxious or depressed, but have nothing that excites me, gives me pleasure and nothing I want to pursue. Because this is gone on so long, I've passed up on so many opportunities. I feel trapped.

I think if I'd been on a mood stabilizer (perhaps lamotrigine) and perhaps a ADHD med, I wouldn't have fallen into this well of apathy.
