In general:

This new study looked at data for 142,691 patients in Sweden with "Serious Mental Illness" who also took statins for high blood pressure or biguanides like Metformin to treat diabetes (I take it to try to keep off weight from Nardil - and there are studies shows it works to prevent Zyprexa weight gain).

Apparently people taking statins and/or Metformin had less psychiatric symptoms over the periods they were taking them. Interesting. For me this just makes me feel better about having Metformin in my cocktail to try to mitagate weight gain (although it hasn't been 100% effective). I'm not sure I agree that these medications would be effective if repurposed though. Thoughts?
