Prune juice induced BM flush out Extended Rls Med?

Posted by PeterMartin on January 5, 2017, at 12:13:18

One of the main side effect I get from my psych meds is constipation. The best solution I've found is a tall glass of Prune juice which will almost always induce a BM in about 3 hours. Usually though it almost completely cleans me out (diarrhea).

For the past few months I've been taking Lamictal XR (extended release). Im just curious if drinking prune juice 4 or 5 hrs after taking my daily dose of Lamictal XR would flush it out before it had a chance to be fully absorbed? I know the intestines are very long so I'm not sure if this is a dumb question.

I'm hoping it's not too big a deal because without an option to +make+ myself go I'm lucky if I can find relief every 4 days....and even then it's not easy.

Would really appreciate any insight as to whether or not it's likely I'm shorting myself some medicine on days I drinking prune juice (say at noon after my 7am morning lamictal xr dose)
