Yeah, as CE noted, it's like an anti-depressant crossed with an opiate, so it's not surprising it lifts mood. I was taking 150mg per day for shoulder pain for several months. I definitely felt happier (and pain free). I remember at one point thinking I should just stay on it for life because I felt so much better. Unfortunately the benefits flattened out after a time (as you'd expect with opiates) and I was afraid to increase the dosage due to really bad constipation. When my pain issue resolved I had a very hard time tapering off it. If I get a pain issue in the future I hope there's a better option by then.
