Coming off an SSRI onto just buspirone can be a bit harsh. Buspar can cause irritability - so can SSRI withdrawl.

Buspar didn't provide the 'whole brain' anxiolytic effect that an SSRI did - although it did work for me over time. Don't be afraid to go back on some SSRI for a slower cross taper - if buspar alone isn't working.
