As for the Focalin, I have done very well on it. Originally my Pdoc started me on Concerta. That lasted all of a week and a half. I could not tolerate the jittery side effects. Focalin XR has been very smooth and tolerable for me.

I have never tried Klonopin so I can't compare it to Xanax. I have been on immediate release Xanax and now the XR version. They are not the same. The XR will not really provide any immediate relief of an attack but will maintain a good baseline to avoid onset of attacks for some people that take it. As I stated before I don't take it often anymore, only when I am going through a bad stretch of heightened stress and anxiety.
