> I heard many times that when withdrawing from a shorter acting benzo like klonopin its best to switch to a longer acting benzo ideally diazepam and taper very slowly over many weeks. I was on 5mg klonopin and thats what my doctor suggested to me. Dont forget diazepam comes in 2mg pills which is less than .25mg klonopin so it can be done very slowly and accurately and most importantly safely. pb

My dr told me, and could be wrong, who knows, that if you are on a low dose of any benzo, using diazepam is not a good solution. like if im on 2mg of xanax a day, diazepam is not good to use. but if im on 10mg xanax a day, diazepam is good to use.

i think because diazepam is hard to manage blood levels due to its cumulative effect. and you dont want to introduce another issue if you dont have to.

honestly i dont know really why pdoc said that
