...concur. Even if you need meds, any doc can prescribe them. Shrinks don't talk to their patients, much less do talk therapy.
In my limited experience, shrinks are more concerned with control and forcing their values on their patients than anything else. And...God help you if you get "uppity," because few other people will.
I think a big reason psychiatry continues is because a big part of what they "treat" is poverty and other social problems. Their salaries are small prices to pay for ignoring the real problems.
