I'd take what I say here with a grain of salt, but from what I gather from having read Dr. Michael Holick's book "The Vitamin D Solution" , I think it's likely that taking 2,000 IU should probably bring your vitamin D level to around 70 ng/mL if it was at 51 ng/mL. Of course, other factors besides supplementation (such as season) might affect your vitamin D level, but if my understanding is correct, it seems likely that the amount of vitamin D that you're taking would bring your level to around 70 ng/mL.
