Yes, I have begun taking Atenolol again and it has a significant mood enhancing effect for me. While it improves mood it does not seem to work for this by itself. I have had the best success when combining it with a strong noradrenergic agent, at this time Strattera, and a low dose serotonergic agent (escitalopram).
The effect of atenolol on mood for me is unlike any other agent I have tried.
