OCD, Depression, liquid prozac

Posted by Anney on July 27, 2014, at 8:57:35

Hi all,

I am new to this site. Came across the thread from '09 re: the benefits of taking low dose liquid prozac which I have been on since 2006.

I have a very mild OCD that flares up occasionally, and have struggled with a low grade depression for years. I am very sensitive to medications and this medicine in liquid form at a low dose has been good for me. However, over the last 2 years I have had to raise my original 10mg dose to 20mg, and then now to 40mg (although I must admit I have not been taking it consistently and tend to skip a day or two every week-- I am so tired of taking it).

My question is, since that time is there any other drug at a low dose that has shown to be more effective? Is my body just becoming used to the prozac, or can I try to reduce it again but just take it more consistently? And, does anyone know of any more natural alternatives to the prozac?

Thank you so much,

Anney
