Perhaps you have schizoaffective disorder (bipolar type). I know it sounds simplistic, but it seems to me that if you can avoid the mania, you can avoid the psychosis. If you can avoid the psychosis, you can avoid the depression. Either way, antipsychotics should play a role in helping to stabilize you. An anticonvulsant (AED) mood stabilizer might be of additional benefit. I don't know about lithium. Lamictal can help with depression, but can actually trigger mania in susceptible individuals. If you are dissatisfied with your current treatment, you might have a look at Latuda, and possibly Saphris. Either of these two drugs can reduce mania, schizoid psychosis, and depression at the same time.You are getting lots of different suggestions. This is a good thing. Lots of choices means lots of possibilities. I hope this gives you hope.
