So, you managed to disparage me, fruitcakes, nuts, and the state of California in just a handful of words. That's impressive. I don't care what you say about me, but I think fruitcakes deserve more respect. They are the butt of an endless procession of jokes during the holiday season. I happen to love fruitcakes. The heavier, the better, especially when they contain nuts. Should I receive a fruitcake from my relatives from California, I would still enjoy it. Fruitcakes never seem to go bad. So, it seems that your commentary on my sounding like a fruitcake is really quite a compliment when you consider that I should never go bad. I must infer from your words that you do not consider yourself to be a fruitcake. Don't be so hard on yourself.

I'm not a real big fan of bashing people while they are being blocked, so I tried to keep things civil in my desire to package and sequester these issues until you return, if that be your intention.

We both know why your posts so often animate people to respond to them. You should expect nothing less as a consequence of your posts than to have people challenge you using the best tools that they have available to them. I know that you can do better than to call someone a fruitcake when your words and ideas are challenged.

I see two types of writing coming from you. One is intelligent, sophisicated, well-informed, and reasonably objective in approach. It deserves a great deal of respect, even if others offer alternative opinions. Your writing and the perspectives it portrays often encourage thought. As for the second type of writing that you produce, I shall try not to opine on it until you return. Perhaps you can consider it in the interim.
