Abilify is often one of the best choices for people who suffer sexual dysfunction on other antipsychotics, it is much less likely to cause sexual problems than Invega (which causes them very frequently).
Invega often causes a large risk in the hormone prolactin. This can reduce sexual function. Abilify does not increase prolactin.
Seroquel is another antipsychotic which does not increase prolactin, but Seroquel is often sedating, which may reduce sex drive in some people.
If you are doing well on Invega apart from the sexual issues, some doctors continue to prescribe it but add 5mg per day of Abilify. This reduces your prolactin level and can improve sexual function. Before you try this, you should have a blood test to check your prolactin. This strategy is only suitable if you prolactin level is clearly elevated.
