There's lots of non-AAP drugs that can be used as augmenting agents in depression. Some that come to mind: Ritalin, focalin, Adderall, Dexedrine, vyvanse, Provigil, nuvigil, buspirone, lithium, pindolol, lamictal, Xanax and other benzos, deplin.

You have options! My personal feeling would be that if you've tried couple AAPs, it may be time to try a different class of add-on drugs. That's just me though...I'm not writing your prescriptions.
