Phentermine acts differently than amphetamine. I think it is selective for the hypothalamus in the brain. It stimulates the release of epinephrine from the adrenals. There is debate as to how much risk is involved with the use of epinephrine during MAOI treatment. I wouldn't know what to suggest.
