I had an atypical depression one time. It only lasted for a few months, but I'd sleep 10-12 hours every night (normally I'm an insomniac) and wake up feeling exhausted. I was very achy during my atypical depression, and drinking would make the aches go away. But as the alcohol left my system, I'd feel even more achy and exhausted.

I have a friend who had a high tolerance for alcohol for years. But then overnight, she lost her tolerance. She now has to fight off sleep after one drink. If she has two drinks, she gets a hangover that lasts two days. She thinks she might have become allergic to alcohol.
