Hi, I know what you are going through because I too have ADD with atypical depression and I cannot tolerate stimulants at all. Especially dexedrine, vyvanse, ritalin and adderal. The IR acting ones are the worst. In the past I did try Provigil but found it too weak for my ADD.

At one time I could tolerate ritalin, but that was a long time ago. Now I take 67mg. of concerta early in the am and although far from perfect, it does get me out of bed.

However I do not get the burst of energy or inspiration like many do on ADD meds. Mostly I have to push myself through the day and just take things one day at a time.

Along with the concerta I take 140mg zoloft and 2mg. clonazapan. I find the clonazapam essential as I would not sleep.

The zoloft has affected my libido and I'm not sure if it is really doing anything because I found it in the past to be a 'mild' anti-depressant for me.

Anyway you could look at supplementing the provigil with a calming anti-depressant or you could try a lose dose of an ADD med to see how you go. Also clonazapam is wonderful for anxiety at higher doses.

No what you mean by no energy and constant fatigue and also the extreme frustration of finding the perfect med., going off due to external reasons, and then finding that once on it again it no longer works! I had this experience with parnate and I can't tell you the sadness and hopelessness I felt when it no longer worked after being my 'magic pill' for years.

Hope this helps. Don't give up and don't feel bad if you have to use valium in the short term if it helps you through your debilitating anxiety. Also if you have to spend a few days in bed until you get better. I know I always feel so guilty if I take to my bed during the day but lately I realize that mental illness is no difference to physical illness and sometimes depression and/or anxiety makes it impossible for one to function.

Get Better...........lillabelle
