Dermatology is apparently the most popular residency in the US. Rare emergencies, can make extra money on the side with botox and cellulose injections as well, in some cases, as doing plastic surgery. No insurance to deal with. Lots of bucks. Meanwhile, poor women can't get prenatal care and there is a shortage of GPs.
As far as psychiatric patients never getting better, that might be true of many on this list but it is not true in general. Most patients do graduate and go on with their lives.
