As an FYI, I tapered off of a psych med cocktail after being on meds for several years due to long term concerns about side effects. By the way, when I thought psych meds were the eighth wonder of the world, I felt people like Breggin were nuts only to realize that he was on target with alot of his comments that verified my concerns.
In the past, he actually took some very courageous stands when it wasn't popular to do so such as speaking out against lobotomies when they were in danger of returning as a popular practice.
But unfortunately, many of us in the withdrawal community feel he has not been very supportive of people who are desperate to find ways of getting off of the meds. He seems to talk a good game but as we all know, actions speak louder than words.
Ok, now I have to go read through the thread:)
