Ginkgo Biloba helping a bit! But how??

very likely. there was some small improvement when i took 2.5mg earlier today and then an hour later still eager for further improvement took another 2.5mg which brought the dose up to 5mg as it was for so many weeks. but improvement was very mild and the additional 2.5mg didn't seem to do much. I went back to feeling extremely tired, dull, withdrawn etc. darkness lingered. valium and ritalin doses didn't seem to help much at all. I felt I was grasping at straws. Even took some Magensium, some B Complex, even L-tryptophan, and some rhodiola low dose. bit spread out of course. I ended up feeling crappy in the evening just like the evening before and the day itself was just plain lousy and worthless.

I fell asleep around 7pm. woke 4 hours later. small ritalin dose, small valium dose... and they didn't seem to do much at all. I felt like I should just go to bed again soon. Cognitively dreadful.

Then I took ginkgo biloba Jarrow brand 120mg, and felt some small improvement, so I took an additionaly 120mg. And pretty soon I was feeling quite better relatively speaking to the absolute hell hole I was in for the past few days.

I even have cold hands right now which tends to happen at times when I usually feel better. I was able to enjoy reading a little bit tonight.

Overall I felt: "more positive. world seems a bit brighter. more energy, feel more awake, more alert. small tiny restoration of interest".

Still a long way to go but remarkable how ginkgo somehow pulled me out of a dark hole.

It was starting to feel like absolute hell. My issues are still severe but not to the point where I feel desperate enough to want to scream out for a new medication.

Does anyone have any idea as to why ginkgo biloba provided such an improvement? One theory is the improved circulation and blood flow.

I used to take doses of about 600mg a day of ginkgo. I think I will have to return to moderate/high ginkgo for my own good.

> Im pretty sure you are enjoying the withdrawal from emsam. I remember i started to get a lot of anxiety. Currently i have recently stopped parnate and have also been having cognitive problems. So im glad to hear someone else is as well and that it is a symptom of the withdrawal. I also have a worsening of anxiety, thoughts can be all over the place when trying to talk. I have the same problems i did before with motivation and interest (no change). I have also had some periods of feeling zoney and sleepy.
