Abilify is D2 dopamine agonist so it does not affect the full spectrum of dopamine which would effect hallucinations. Because it allows for some of the dopamine, it reduces the rate that prolactin is produced as it would in normal circumstances where dopamine exists and is not diminished as it is with risperdal.
i am trialing this combination from next week because i have a problem with hyperprolactinemia.
