Part of the HIDA scan was in injection of cholecystokinen which, aside from making my gut wrench up, also induced a lot of anxiety, some sweating, etc.
Now, many years later and sans gall-bladder, when I feel tense and anxious and start sweating a bit and my gut clenches up (often with increased bowel motility) I wonder if the tail is wagging the dog and not the other way around.
As Prefect noted, check out Proglumide. Might have to try that sometime as an experiment.
