Long andwer yes with an if, short answer no with a but.... some people do find it to be different to the mainstream SSRI's, others find it pretty much the same.

Given your situation, I'd definatly suggest trying it, at a dose of atleast 100mg/day, and even pushing it to 200mg/day.

Clomipramine might be worth considering (as well as being a seretonin reuptake inhibitor, it blocks various seretonin receptor subtypes and helps releive anxiety in multiple ways)
