The way you described it, linkadge, sounded like a perfect description of my herxheimer reactions when I get too aggressive fighting late lyme. Since a flu shot is going to cause an immune system reaction, anything is possible. Exactly what is going on, I dunno. But to me it is somewhere within the chronic infection/inflammation arena and somehow the shot stirred up a hornet's nest.

For some reason, my bad reactions are primarily neurologic and psychiatric. Pretty much exactly as you described, and I can attest they are intense episodes. I think that indicates brain infection, but toxins from somewhere else in the body can do the same thing.

The only things that help me at that time are vicodin primarily, sometimes ritalin.
