Philipa,

If you are looking for a good medicare plan, go to BCBS the PPO enhanced freedom. It is the best Advantage plan with drug coverage. Its good price too. One of the most popular with docs now. I was at gp office other day and not taking Humana anymore. Even regular medicare is not as good as the BCBS plan. It has good coverage for generic meds, a lot of them are free and gap covered. Through mail order.

All hospitals have to take your insurance if you are in a car accident. If you are admitted like in emergency your insurane has to pay them. If you go pre ellected you have to use a hospital that take that insurance. which is probably what they were talking about in SC.

Healthcare reform had nothing to do with United Health care. The complany just does not like the prices the hospital is charging them. They should change there health insurance company. If they had a PPO plan instead of an HMO the hospital would still take there insurance. Maybe with a higher copay.

I agree we should have free health care for everyone. Payed for out of tax money. The problem with obamacare is that your employer has to pay for your insurance if you are full time. So a lot of companys are going to start hireing part time instead of full time, so they don't have to pay for your health insurance. Just like my job, Domino's. Good thing I have medicare! Which is what everyone would have if obama went all the way and got universal health care. Which was the origional plan. But the republicans would not go for that. And obama stupidly tried to work with the republicans. So now we pick out health care and have to buy it instead of having it paid for out of our payroll taxes. Would have been a better deal. This way now we have to still give the private insurance companys a cut, even if its not as much as before. which is what is going on in SC. Because the health law is not in full effect yet. So they are still trying to maximise profits.
