Doxycycline doesn't work that well for depression, even though it is a cousin drug to minocycline.
I was on doxycycline for several months along with antidepressants, Abilify, and Lamictal. It didn't help at all. With minocycline, I felt improved within one week.
The only two people I know of who are responding to minocycline are also taking Lamictal and Abilify. One is bipolar and the other is unipolar. We will have to see what other drug combinations work with minocycline.
