I believe it can in small doses. However since excessive weight gain can be closely related to the onset of diabetes, the effect of Zyprexa w/o weight gain would have to be studied further. My son has been taking Zyprexa since 2004. About 6 months ago he tried Latuda and then Saphris. He was taking 15 mg Zyprexa and just couldn't drop Zyprexa because of horrible withdrawal symptoms. Has any log term user of Zyprexa been able to go off it. It's very addictive. Anyway after trying those meds for a month or so each, he wanted to get back on Zyprexa. Since then he has gained 40 lbs.
