It's a tough gig. Psychiatry is hard because so much of it is gray area:). You have to figure out what's in front of you and that's not easy. Not counting all the grief they get from patients..some justified, some not. And psychiatrists make somewhere in the neighborhood of $155000. A lot of money to me but I know retail district managers that make that much. Dermatologists, $300,000+ Family doc, same as shrinks.
When I sold furniture we had a respected surgeon that was a good customer. It wasn't unusual for him to get a call while shopping. I'd listen to him spitting out highly technical details of what to do with the patient. One night he bought a glass table and we dropped it in the parking lot(bad move but it happened) He leaned over to help us pick up the metal parts! We of course said, no doc we got it.
So yes, there are some very good people in medicine.
I can't seem to write a short post these days.
