My friend needs a cutting edge psychiatrist (think outside the box) ASAP in Phoenix. She has history of life long major depression and bouts of panic attacks(bad genes, no trauma) and fractured her skull in 3 places in 1996 (car wreck), 4 shoulder surgeries (from sporting injuries)so on top of her life long depression and panic attack bouts, she's in constant pain all the time. She's only 21, I'm much older, I too have battle of life long history of major depression/panic attacks (no trauma either), but didn't realize I had a bad psychiatrist until I was 30 years old, so thought I would post this for her b/c she's so depressed and her psychiatrist is awful and very big into watch and wait for several(4-6) weeks before increasing a basic SSRI medicine (like prozac). Any great phoenix psychiatrists, ideally one who can help with her chronic pain too or just someone who thinks outside the box and deals with patients who are beyond just an SSRI! thx!
