I was thinking you might try to taper off Remeron if Zyprexa is effective. If you stop Remeron and start Zyprexa at the same time.... and you don't feel better, you won't know whether the lack of improvement was because you stopped Remeron or because Zyprexa wasn't effective.

I think it makes sense to get a low strength of Zyprexa because it makes it easier to titrate the dose to effect. You could start out with 2.5mg or 5mg at night. Perhaps your doctor might prescribe you a box of 2.5mg tabs and a box of 5mg tabs. I doubt you would need much more than 10mg for efficacy, but it's possible.
