Cymbalta, very bad choice.

There is nothing to substitute Nardil. It stands alone.

The closest you could maybe do is to try to get equal attention to serotonin and NE. That would mean a combo of an SSRI with a TCA, for example zoloft plus nortriptyline, or similar. Again, there is nothing like Nardil.

Cymbalta is a lame effort to accomplish that. The problem is that while it is called a SNRI for marketing purposes, it really isn't....it's almost pure serotonin....only 1 part NE to 9 parts serotonin....and as far as I can tell over the years just about any of the other common antidepressants outperform cymbalta.

The docs get a lot of encouragement from their pharm reps to prescribe cymbalta and there are often under the table incentives to do so.

Clomipramine is a possibility since it hits serotonin and NE equally.

If Nardil is working, you might want to rethink how to deal with the side effects. It wouldn't be the first time for sure, but people often discover that when they stop a med that was working and then return to it again it does not work the second time anywhere near as good as it did the first time.

This seems like a heavy duty risky thing you are doing so I would approach it with a good deal of caution.

These are my opinions on the matter.
