I get parasomnias like that quite a bit, and while I agree they are usually unpleasant, the experience can be interesting. Recently I was able to open my eyes while still dreaming, and saw my room (blurrily) through the dream. BTW, I am not on Remeron or MAOIs at present.

When I was on Remeron I found it an excellent sleep aid but a bit too long-lasting - "overhang" the next morning. But I seem to have the same problem with all sedatives, so it may be due to impaired liver function or just personal idiosyncrasy.
