The half-life of the active metabolite of risperidone, 9-hydroxy-risperidone, is about 24 hours.

It is likely that you are taking too little risperidone to last 24 hours. I believe you should at least run a trial of an increased dosage of risperidone. 0.5mg is a common dosage when used for non-psychotic conditions. Perhaps you can split the dosage and take 0.25mg twice a day.
