If you can get your doctor to convince your insurance company you need lexapro(escitalopram), I would go for it instead of celexa. Or, you can just go to online pharmacies like MagicPharma.com and get generic or brand Lexapro on the cheap. I told my psychiatrist about this and she admitted many of her patients are doing the same thing.

I would go with Lexapro first and give it a 3 month trial, going no higher than 20 mg(hopefully you do just fine at 10 after a few months).

Why not consider Prozac? Have you tried it already?
