It's happened for me as well that foods that were fine at first starting causing problems later on. Chocolate was one of them. Cocoa and good-quality dark chocolate were a problem from the start, but inexpensive chocolate with hardly any cocoa content, like M&Ms, began causing elevated BP over time as well. (Almonds were another. I guess that means chocolate-covered almonds are out of the question, more's the pity...)
