Some of you may remember a relatively recent post about how I called up an ex-therapist and let him know I felt about his "services." It was cathartic, but now I want to do it again. He was out of the office when I called last time, so now I'd kind of like to actually talk to the man and see what he has to say.

I don't want to be dulled out and stupid all the time, and I don't want TD. I also don't like how popping the meds is like being a part of my own oppression. I mean, if I take the antipsychotic everyday, I'm basically saying: "Yes, I have a broken brain/brain disease and I need chemical restraints. I will voluntarily take these crappy pills because you, the psychiatric experts, are right. Thanks."

Ask your friend for an honest assessment of how you're doing based on some longer-term observation, not just what she thinks is right (which is what most people think - MI = stay on meds under any circumstances.)

If your psychotic symptoms are manageable (and due to the nature of psychosis, I would have someone else verify this) without APs, it's something to think carefully about.

Is anxiety a prominent symptom for you? I remember some of your posts - as much as I complain about public health clinics, it's not been difficult for me to get Ativan or Klonopin to manage my anxiety symptoms, even when I had *no* insurance at all and had to use the county system for the medically indigent. It makes me wonder what part of the country/continent you're in.

What do you think about using glyceine? I know you dig your supplements, perhaps that could help if you don't wanna take APs. I am making no recommendation here, just something that popped into my head.

Good luck CE! You are more knowledgeable than most, I have every bit of confidence you'll make the right decision.
