Yeah, I've seen the studies saying that lithium has no effect, so maybe my idea that there's this small but substantial "me-type" cohort is a fantasy. It's interesting to me nonetheless, though. Lithium is pretty fascinating, I only started looking at it (after moving it to the bottom of the mood stabilizer list years ago) in response to the fairly new research regarding its neurotrophic properties, as I think my hippocampus is sorely atrophied. But now I wish I could go back in time and try it as monotherapy before ever touching an AD, though it's too early to say I've found my mood stabilizer. Oh well.
