Well, she sounds conservative, and that's not all bad. There is the aversion some doctors have to older classes of medications, too. But they are perfectly good tools. Thank goodness hammers are still available after the invention of the nail gun. I understand that there can be more maintenance involved--complications I don't fully understand. My own gp just about bolted out the door at the mention of maoi's. Worried that I could accidentally put myself in harm's way.
Still... if it's what you want and need and can prove it's efficacy, maybe she can be persuaded.
