>I suggested basically tossing the Xanax pills and getting his withdrawals covered by Valium. Valium is relatively fool-proof. After the initial rush, which lasts on the order of 20minutes, it then gets absorbed into all the fatty tissue in your body and re-releases slowly. If you get enough absorbed into fatty tissue in the beginning of your withdrawal, then you might be able to coast along and not take diazepam for a while, since it comes out of your fat at a slow and steady pace.
